Joyce Kilmer. 1886–1918 |
119. Trees |
I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree. | |
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day, | 5 |
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain. | 10 |
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree. |

Sometimes it's better when things aren't perfect...at least then you know that they're real
Nothing will just happen on its own so go for it and do it , changes wont just happen take the chance and if it fails move on.
"Life is a gift we're given each and every day. Dream about tomorrow, but live for today." ~ Author Unknown
Life is about screwing up, that's what we're here for. It's the things you screw up and still have the courage to fight for.
"There's two things in life you cant take back... Words and Bullets. So make sure you hit what you aim at and make sure you mean what you say."
Marriage is not a noun; it's a verb. It isn't something you get. It's something you do. It's the way you love your partner every day.
-"Happy moments, praise God; Difficult moments, seek God; Quiet moments, praise God; Painful moments, trust God; Every moment, thank God"
The STRONG work for a relationship; while the WEAK just give up and move on to another one.
Sometimes you have to let God turn your life upside down so you can learn to live right-side up
thinks the only way to true happiness is to live in the moment
and not worry about the future

Don’t let a wishbone grow where a backbone should be.
Be like a duck. Remain calm on the surface and paddle like hell underneath.

Quotes
Keep your words soft and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them. ~Author Unknown
In order to succeed in life you need three things - a wish bone, a back bone and a funny bone.
Be a giver not a taker, Listen more-talk less, compliment more- criticize less, forgive more-judge less. In the end you will be happy more and not friendless.
Though she be but little, she is fierce." - Shakespeare
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Act as though it were impossible to fail." Author unknown
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Life's too short to be anything but happy.
A little more laughter, A little less worry.. A little more kindness, A little less hurry..
"Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." Sir Winston Churchill

Perhaps the World Ends Here
I love the images this poem evokes. I can see me at my parents kitchen table and having dinner discussing our day. It makes me dream of a time when I will have my own table and kids to sit around it.
The world begins at a kitchen table. No matter what,
we must eat to live.
The gifts of earth are brought and prepared, set on the
table so it has been since creation, and it will go on.
We chase chickens or dogs away from it. Babies teethe
at the corners. They scrape their knees under it.
It is here that children are given instructions on what
it means to be human. We make men at it,
we make women.
At this table we gossip, recall enemies and the ghosts
of lovers.
Our dreams drink coffee with us as they put their arms
around our children. They laugh with us at our poor
falling-down selves and as we put ourselves back
together once again at the table.
This table has been a house in the rain, an umbrella
in the sun.
Wars have begun and ended at this table. It is a place
to hide in the shadow of terror. A place to celebrate
the terrible victory.
We have given birth on this table, and have prepared
our parents for burial here.
At this table we sing with joy, with sorrow.
We give thanks.
Perhaps the world will end at the kitchen table,
while we are laughing and crying,
eating of the last sweet bite.
